power shattered fatimids, how?

Muhammad Abdullah ibn al-Husayn known as Al-Mahdi Billah founder of Fatimid
Caliphate was started underground missionary movement in the 10th
centuary. Fatimids became the political, cultural and religious centre of the
empire and developed a new culture. They
built Cairo as capital of their empire with institutions Al-Azhar and Darul
Hikmah. Al-Azhar became famous educational institution in Islamic world which
still exist in Cairo. Fatimids promoted science, astronomy and geography and
also developed trade networks in the Mediterranean, Indian Oceon and in China.
Fatimid caliphate declined due to
revival of Christian power including multiple factors during 11th
and 12th centuries. They lost much of Sicily and Spain and had to
face Crusades from the east. The Seljuks appeared from the east. The ethnic
based army reflected negative effects on internal politics. In 1171, Salahudin
Ayubi defeated fatimids and became the master of Egypt.
